Karen Wlasichuk
President

Karen is a business operations, process improvement and program management professional with over 25 years of experience in leading teams, identifying and delivering business strategy and process improvement programs within both small and large organizations. Her focus is on ensuring business teams do work that aligns with the company’s strategic goals and ensures that all projects, programs and processes deliver business benefits.

Karen’s personal passion is animal rescue and welfare and in addition to caring for her own family of adopted/rescued animals (3 dogs, 2 cats, 3 EOI horses, 4 alpacas, 6 goats, 10 ducks and a goose!), she has been volunteering for over a decade in various organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States, the San Francisco SPCA, International Veterinary Outreach, the FixBend Spay/Neuter Program, the Companion Animal Medical project and the Humane Society of Central Oregon.

Karen assumed the role of President in 2022 and has since initiated a critical shift in EOI's administrative and operational processes. Her focus has been on digitalizing existing systems, thereby modernizing the organization and promoting greater transparency. A key part of Karen's goal as President is to ensure processes are individual-agnostic, meaning they're not reliant on any one person's expertise or presence. This adaptation increases longevity and strengthens the sustainability of the organization by making processes universally understandable and accessible.
